The Program

The Philadelphia Chocolate, Wine and Whiskey Festival filled the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on February 18, 2023. A tasting festival on an expo floor is a hard room: guests move between vendors, conversations happen in small groups, and the energy can scatter across a huge space. The event was covered by CBS News Philadelphia.

What We Did

We emceed and DJed the festival. On the mic we welcomed guests, kept announcements clear across the floor and gave the day a shape. At the booth we built music that matched the room: easy enough for conversation at the tasting tables, with crowd moments that pulled people onto the floor to dance.

Eight Hours on the Mic and the Decks

We were on for eight hours with more than 500 guests moving across the expo floor. On the mic we handled vendor shoutouts, giveaways and announcements, and ran the stage segments that gave the day its shape. Between segments the music carried the room.

A long consumer festival is a stamina room. Guests arrive throughout the day, so the energy has to feel fresh for the person who just walked in without wearing out the people who have been there since the doors opened. Vendor shoutouts matter here too: they send guests to booths, keep vendors busy, and show the producer exactly what the person on the mic is worth.

What the Room Told Us

All day, guests kept walking up to the booth to tell us the music was great and they were having an amazing time. The producers noticed, and they put it in writing.

“What a joy it was to have DJ, so much so we hired him for our next 2 festival shows! Did such a great job working the crowd. Highly recommended him!”

The Outcome

The crowd response in Philadelphia got us rebooked by the same producers for two more festival dates: the Pittsburgh Chocolate, Wine and Whiskey Festival at Rivers Casino on February 25, 2023, and the festival in Washington, DC. We emceed and DJed both.

Why It Worked

Festival producers rebook the people who make the floor feel full. One operator on the microphone and the music meant every announcement landed on a beat the room was already moving to, and the music kept guests on the floor between tastings.

Producing a festival, expo or consumer event?

We host and DJ large floors so guests stay longer, vendors stay busy and the producer has a reason to book us again.
