DJ Reese of No Stress Zone Entertainment is the corporate event emcee New York planners rebook year after year, working across New York City. We host awards shows, corporate conferences, galas and brand activations across Manhattan and the five boroughs, and we run the music too, so one operator owns the mic and the room. Our New York proof is on the record: the FTF News Awards at Hard Rock Hotel New York, booked two years in a row, and seven consecutive years at the 9/11 Day Meal Pack at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.

FTF News runs an annual awards event in New York City. They hired us as corporate emcee and DJ in 2025, then booked us again for June 16, 2026. An awards night is the least forgiving format in corporate events: every category call, every walk up and every acceptance has to land on time, because the honoree is the reason the room showed up.
- Hosted the program and kept award category transitions on the run of show
- Walk up music tailored to each winner as they were called to the stage
- Cocktail hour and dinner music paced to the room without competing with conversation
- Program flow support that made the FTF team look good in front of their clients

NYC case study: 9/11 Day Meal Pack at the Intrepid

Every September 11, volunteers fill the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum to pack meal kits for New Yorkers facing hunger. In 2026 more than 6,000 volunteers came through across four days, and 4.1 million meals were packed in New York. We have worked the New York flagship every year since 2020, and 2026 was our seventh consecutive year.
From 2020 through 2024 the role was DJ. In 2025 we added floor emcee duties across the two day pack. In 2026 we carried the full hosting brief for the four day 25th anniversary: introductions, announcements and defined parts of the run of show, on top of the music. The 2026 pack was also covered on the news by NBC New York and 11Alive. The moment that earned the expanded role came in 2024. The pack was running behind its meal target and the organizers asked us to lift the last shift. Volunteers had been packing for hours and the room was flagging. We changed the music, took the mic, and the shift hit the goal. That is audience engagement measured in meals, not applause.
In 2026, the 25th anniversary, the pack ran four days, September 8 to 11, and we were DJ and emcee every day. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined the packing floor on day two.

55/10, do recommend. If you need a guy that knows the times and the vibes. A true MC and master of his craft.

Also in New York: Lidl US grand openings

We have hosted 74 Lidl US grand openings over seven years, including openings in New York City. Street level brand activations teach the same skill a ballroom does: read the crowd in real time and adjust before a dip becomes a problem. See the Lidl US case study.
Most recent: the Lidl US grand opening in Chelsea, New York City, on October 7, 2026, our 74th overall, booked through Soho Experiential. Before that, the Lidl US grand opening in Staten Island, New York on September 30, 2026 was our 73rd.
As seen on Staten Island Advance. SILive covered the Staten Island opening, and Lidl US’s own corporate account commented on our announcement post before the event. Read the SILive coverage.
Also in New York: MSCI at 250 Greenwich Street
On October 23, 2024 we DJed an internal employee celebration for MSCI at 250 Greenwich Street. That booking was DJ rather than emcee, and we are saying so plainly because the distinction matters when a planner is vetting a host.
What it demonstrates is the room. A large financial institution celebrating its own people, in a corporate building that was not designed as an event space, with an audience that came straight from their desks. Reading that room is the same skill the emcee work depends on, and New York financial services is one of the largest corporate event buyers in this city.
What a corporate event emcee does in a New York room
New York corporate events run tight. Venues turn rooms fast, speakers arrive late, and the audience has somewhere else to be. The emcee is the person who keeps the program moving when that happens.
- Opens the program, sets expectations and gets the room settled fast
- Introduces executives, speakers and honorees with names and titles right the first time
- Covers transitions and technical delays so the room never sits in dead air
- Keeps segments on time and adjusts the pace when the program runs long
- Drives audience engagement moments that serve the event objective, not the host
Emcee and DJ in one booking
Most corporate events in New York City hire a host and a DJ separately, then hope the handoffs work. We run both from one position: the same person who introduces your CEO also fires the walk up music, so there is no gap between the mic and the music and no second vendor to brief. For a corporate event planner, that means one contract, one run of show and one call on show day.
New York venues we have worked
These are New York rooms we have worked, with the event we ran in each. Load in windows, valet and credentialing, and venue AV rules differ at every one, and knowing them before the day is part of the job.
- Hard Rock Hotel New York: FTF News Awards, where we welcomed the room, introduced the founder and played every winner’s walk up.
- Intrepid Museum: the 9/11 Day meal pack service event.
- Buddakan NYC: the FOX holiday event, December 8, 2025, with a 2:30 PM load in.
- Current at Chelsea Piers: the FOX ad sales event, April 16, 2026.
- The Ainslie, Bowery: the FOX ad sales event, July 15, 2026.
- PUBLIC Hotel: a Danone North America event.
- 250 Greenwich Street: an internal employee celebration for MSCI, October 23, 2024.
- Baccarat Hotel New York: a client venue.
- Staten Island: the Lidl US grand opening, September 30, 2026.
The calendar is predictable. December is holiday programs, spring and summer carry ad sales events and awards nights, and sales kickoffs cluster in the first quarter. Venues turn rooms quickly and programs run tight, so the work is mostly in the details before the day: load in time, entry instructions, certificates of insurance and the venue AV contact, all confirmed in advance.
What it costs to book a corporate event emcee
Our in-person programs are $5,000 half day and $8,000 full day (activations from $3,500), depending on hours, the number of segments we host and whether we also run music. For a closer number, use our pricing calculator or read what a corporate emcee costs. Before you sign, see what happens when you hire a corporate emcee, from the planning call to show day.
In person half day programs, up to five hours, are $5,000. In person full day programs, up to eight hours, are $8,000. Brand activations start at $3,500 for up to six hours. Virtual programs, up to three hours, are a separate remote service at $2,500. Multi day and multi city events are scoped separately, and travel is added to the quote.
Where a New York program lands between our $5,000 half day and $8,000 full day comes down to four things: the hours on the clock, how many segments we host, whether we also run the music, and how much run of show work the day needs. An awards night with a dozen walk ups and a sponsor read is a different job from a two hour kickoff with three speakers. Booking one person for both emcee and DJ is usually simpler to schedule than two vendors, and we price it as one booking.
Before you compare quotes, ask each vendor what is not included, who exactly will be on the microphone, and what the load in and venue requirements are. Request a written quote with the hours, the segments and the music scope spelled out.
How we prepare
- A planning call to learn the business goal, the audience and the moments that matter most
- We work from your run of show and coordinate directly with your producer and AV team before load in
- Name pronunciations, titles and award order confirmed in writing before the event
- We arrive two hours before start time to set up and test. Full details are in our technical rider
- Fully insured, with a certificate of insurance available on request
NYC logistics: load-in, freight and travel
We coordinate load-in with the venue well ahead of the event. That covers dock access, freight elevator reservations, parking and setup windows. We plan transportation around what the venue requires and arrive with enough time for setup and testing.
We also confirm insurance requirements, vendor paperwork and any union labor or equipment restrictions with the venue before the event. We deal with these early so nothing delays event day.
The biggest challenges are usually tight load-in windows, freight elevator scheduling, traffic and very little time for a sound check. We handle them with advance coordination, a detailed run of show and clear communication with the venue’s AV team.
We plan travel around your event schedule and leave extra time for NYC traffic, parking and load-in. For early starts or late finishes, we may stay overnight. Any travel fee depends on distance, timing and logistics, and we confirm it in your quote.
Frequently asked questions
Do you cover all five boroughs?
Yes. We work across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, plus the wider NYC metro. We are based in Marlton, New Jersey, and travel is built into the quote.
Can one person emcee and DJ the same event?
Yes, and it is our most booked format. At the FTF News Awards we welcomed guests, introduced the founder to the stage and ran walk up music for every winner from the same position.
Do you work with the venue AV team?
Always. We coordinate with your producer and the in house AV team on the run of show before load in, and we bring backup wireless microphones.
What kinds of New York events do you host?
Awards shows, corporate conferences, galas, sales kickoffs, service days and brand activations.
Who handles freight elevators and load-in at NYC venues?
We coordinate dock access, freight elevator reservations, parking and setup windows with the venue in advance.
Do you need a certificate of insurance or vendor paperwork for New York venues?
