The Program
FTF News runs an annual awards event in New York City. Second year in a row hiring No Stress Zone Entertainment as the corporate DJ for the program. This is the awards side of corporate events — where every category call, every walk-up, every acceptance moment needs to land clean. There is no room for a music cue that misses the timing. A missed cue at an awards event is a missed moment for the honoree, and the honoree is the whole reason the room showed up.
What I Did
The operator role across both years
- Walk-up music tailored to each winner as they were called to the stage
- Cocktail hour and dinner music paced to the room energy without competing with the conversations
- Award category transitions timed to the run of show
- Corporate-friendly music selection curated to the FTF News audience and brand voice
- Program flow support that made the FTF team look good in front of their clients

Why It Worked
Awards events are a different discipline. Every walk-up track is a moment for a specific person being recognized in front of their peers, their team, and their clients. The operator running the audio has to know which song fits which honoree without being told. That takes homework before the event and reads on the run of show during the event.
Year one earned the rebook. Year two locked the pattern. FTF News did not go looking for another vendor because the standard held from cocktail hour through the closing remarks. When the Founder and Editor-in-Chief personally says “the best corporate DJ we’ve ever worked with,” the vendor gets kept on the calendar.
