The Evening We Worked: Lidl US Strategy Conference, August 2025
On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, we DJed the evening program of the Lidl US Strategy Conference at the Renaissance Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, from 8pm to 11pm. Lidl US booked us directly, building on a seven year relationship that includes 74 grand opening activations across NYC, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC and beyond. This booking was the evening entertainment for their conference, not the daytime agenda: our own wireless microphone, sound and music kept the reception moving after a full day of leadership sessions.

Why an Evening Program Still Needs the Right DJ
A conference evening reception is not a free for all dance floor. It follows a full day of leadership sessions, so the room is a mix of executives, regional leaders and staff who are tired, still half in work mode, and not always looking to be loud. The job is to read that room accurately: keep the energy comfortable and professional for the first stretch, and build it if and when the crowd actually wants that. A wireless microphone stays on standby the entire booking in case a leader wants to make a toast or a short remark, because a dead mic in that moment is a bad look for everyone.
How We Ran the Evening
Before the event
We confirmed the room, start and end times, and any planned toasts or remarks directly with the Lidl US team ahead of the date. Our own wireless microphone and sound system travel with us so there is no dependency on in house AV for a reception of this size.
During the reception
We set up before guests arrived and eased into the evening with music that matched a corporate crowd coming out of a full day of sessions. The mic stayed live and ready the entire three hours in case leadership wanted to speak. We read the room throughout and adjusted the music as the evening opened up.
After the final set
We closed out at the contracted end time and debriefed with the Lidl US team, the same way we do after every one of the 74 grand openings we have run for them.
Why Lidl US Trusted Us With Their Strategy Conference
Lidl US did not hire an unknown name for an internal leadership event. We had already run 74 grand opening activations for them over seven years (45 through Legacy Marketing and 29 through Soho Experiential) across NYC, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington DC, Virginia and Atlanta. That track record on the store floor is what earned us the room at the Renaissance in Arlington in 2025. Read the full Lidl US case study.
What to Ask Before You Book a Corporate Event DJ
- Will the same person emcee and run the music, or are you coordinating two vendors?
- Have they worked a corporate conference of your size, and can they name the client?
- How do they handle a failed mic or a speaker running long?
- Will they work with your AV team and producer, or around them?
- Can they show real case studies and reviews, not just a highlight reel?

Frequently Asked Questions
What did you do at this conference, and what does a full day conference emcee do?
Here we DJed the evening reception only, from 8pm to 11pm, with a wireless microphone ready for toasts. A full day conference emcee does more: introduces speakers, delivers announcements, manages transitions and music cues, and stays in contact with the show caller and AV team so the program stays on time. We do both, and plan each one differently.
What does a conference emcee and DJ cost?
Evening receptions are priced by hours and scope. Full day conferences with emcee duties for the whole agenda typically range from $5,000 to $8,000 depending on event length, scope and services. Use our pricing calculator for an estimate.
How far in advance should we book?
For conferences, we recommend reaching out four to six months in advance (60 to 90 days for single evening corporate events).
Do you work with our existing AV team?
Yes. We coordinate with in house AV and production teams on every corporate conference we run.
Where do you work?
We are based in New Jersey and cover the NYC, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington DC corridor, including Virginia and Maryland, with national availability. See our Washington DC corporate event services and conference and summit services.
