The Room We Actually Ran: Lidl US Strategy Conference 2025

In 2025 we emceed and DJed the Lidl US Strategy Conference at the Renaissance Hotel in Arlington, Virginia for more than 500 attendees. Lidl US already knew us from the store floor: a seven year program and 72 grand opening activations across NYC, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC and beyond. An internal strategy conference is a different room. Leadership is aligning the business, so the hosting keeps the agenda moving and the music serves the program instead of competing with it.

Why a Strategy Conference Is a Different Room

A strategy conference is not a party and it is not a sales rally. Leadership is in the room to align the business for the year ahead, and every attendee is there to hear where the company is going. The job of the emcee and DJ at a corporate conference like this is to protect the agenda: get people seated and focused, move cleanly from one speaker to the next, and bring the energy back up at the moments the program needs it.

That is audience engagement in its most disciplined form. Nobody should remember the transitions. They should remember the message.

How We Run a Corporate Strategy Conference

Before the event

Every booking starts with a strategy call with the corporate event planner. We walk the run of show, learn who is speaking and in what order, and find the crowd moments that matter most: the CEO opening, the recognition segments, the close. We coordinate with the venue and the in house AV team so the handoffs between our mic, the stage audio and the music are settled before load in.

Day of

We set up early and test everything. Our own wireless mic runs into our own mixer as a backup, powered on and ready, because a failed mic in front of 500 people is 60 to 90 seconds of dead air unless someone already planned for it. Walk in music sets the tone as people find their seats.

During the program

On the mic, we open the session, introduce speakers, keep time and hold the room between segments. On the music side, every lead in, walk up and break is cued to the program so there is never silence while people wait. We read the room in real time and adjust before a dip turns into a problem.

After the final segment

We close the session with a clear send off and keep the music right for the networking time that follows, then debrief with the planner so the next conference starts even stronger.

Why Lidl US Trusted Us With Their Strategy Conference

Lidl US did not hire an unknown name for an internal leadership event. We had already run 72 grand opening activations for them over seven years across NYC, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington DC and Virginia. That track record on the store floor is what earned us the room at the Renaissance in Arlington in 2025. Read the full Lidl US case study.

What to Ask Before You Book a Conference Emcee and DJ

  • Will the same person emcee and run the music, or are you coordinating two vendors?
  • Have they worked a corporate conference of your size, and can they name the client?
  • How do they handle a failed mic or a speaker running long?
  • Will they work with your AV team and producer, or around them?
  • Can they show real case studies and reviews, not just a highlight reel?
